Overview
Santa Rosa Junior College (SRJC) is seeking qualified applicants for its Associate Faculty Pool in Agricultural Engineering (Mechanics). Assignments may be temporary, part-time, and/or on-call. The Sonoma County Junior College District does not offer fully remote positions.
Compensation & Benefits

Hourly Rate: $60.76–$154.09, based on education and experience

Assignment: Part-time (up to 67% of full-time load)

Benefits: Eligible part-time faculty receive medical insurance (based on eligibility)

Sick Leave: Accrued on a pro-rated basis

Retirement Options: CalSTRS Defined Benefit, CalSTRS Cash Balance, and Social Security
Key Duties & Responsibilities
-
Deliver high-quality, student-centered instruction in Agricultural Engineering.

Provide academic support to students during scheduled office hours.

Demonstrate sensitivity and inclusivity toward diverse student populations.

Maintain subject matter expertise and professional currency.
-
Perform additional duties such as committee participation or student assessments, as required.
Department Overview
SRJC’s Agriculture & Natural Resources Department is California’s largest community college agriculture program, serving over 2,500 students. The department offers 20+ degrees and certificates across 11 programs and operates Shone Farm, a 365-acre teaching facility with vineyards, pastures, and a commercial winery.
Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Agricultural Engineering or related field and two years of full-time experience;
OR
Associate’s degree in Agricultural Engineering or related field and six years of full-time experience;
OR
Equivalent qualification;
OR
A valid California Community College Instructor’s Credential in Agricultural Services and Processing.
